GAU Gordon Bennett Dormitory

GAU Gordon Bennett Dormitory is a modern and functional dormitory located on the Girne American University (GAU) campus. This building was built to facilitate students’ academic lives and aims to provide a safe, comfortable and social living space. The design of Gordon Bennett Dormitory was considered to provide students with both an individual study environment and social interaction areas.

Architectural Design and Structural Features

The building is an impressive example of modern architecture and was built to adapt to the surrounding natural texture. The building was designed with high energy efficiency materials and offers a sustainable living space by making the best use of natural lighting and ventilation opportunities. The large glass windows and balconies used in the facade design make the living spaces inside the building brighter and more spacious.

Another striking element in terms of architecture is the functional division of the interior into sections. Different areas were created to meet the students’ resting, working and socializing needs. The interior design of the building was made with a minimalist approach and a simple and modern aesthetic was adopted. In addition, ergonomic furniture and student-friendly arrangements maximize the comfort of users.

Room Layout and Interiors

There are various room types in Gordon Bennett Dormitory, designed to meet different accommodation needs. Offering a wide range from single rooms to multi-person rooms, the dormitory offers options according to students’ budgets and preferences. Each room is equipped to meet the individual needs of students. The rooms have personal work areas, wardrobes, comfortable beds and high-speed internet access.

In the interiors of the dormitory, there are quiet study rooms that allow students to work individually, common areas, and multi-purpose halls where social activities can be held. In addition, recreational areas and cafeterias designed with students’ rest and relaxation needs in mind are also an important part of the building.

Common Areas

There are large common areas in the building where students can socialize. There are areas for different needs such as dining halls, libraries and gyms. In addition, the laundry and kitchens in the building are designed to facilitate students’ daily lives. In order to support social interaction, there are large and spacious lounges, conference and meeting rooms where student groups can organize events.
